Motivational Biography Of Madam Sudha Murthy

Sudha Murthy is an Indian engineering teacher, Kannada, Marathi, and English author as well as a Social worker. Her determined and resolute attitude played a crucial role in shaping her career. In this motivational biography of Sudha Murthy, we will know about her life’s story, pleasant personality, woman power, life- problems, and how she overcomes them.


Sudha Murthy was born on 19th August 1950 into a Deshastha Madhwa Brahmin family in Shiggaon, Haveri in Karnataka. She is the daughter of surgeon Dr. R. H. Kulkarni and Vimala Kulkarni. She was raised by her parents and maternal grandparents. 


He has been very talented since childhood. Sudha Murthy completed a B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology (now known as KLE Technological University), standing first in her class and receiving a gold medal from the Chief Minister of Karnataka. After that, she completed M.Eng. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science, standing first in her class and receiving a gold medal from the Indian Institute of Engineers.


TELCO company once advertised that “we want male employes, Lady candidates need not apply”- that is why Sudha wrote a letter to the chairman of the company –  “why only men?” …This stamina of her inspires us. Courage and perseverance defeat everything, she has proved it.

As a result, she was granted a special interview and hired immediately. In this way, Sudha Murthy became the first female engineer hired at India’s largest auto manufacturer TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO). She joined the company as a Development Engineer in Pune and then worked in Mumbai & Jamshedpur as well. Later, she joined Walchand Group of Industries at Pune as Senior Systems Analyst.

                       She started Infosys Foundation & to date has been the Trustee of Infosys Foundation and a Visiting Professor at the PG Center of Bangalore University in 1996. Sudha Murthy also taught at Christ University. As a teacher, she also stood by the students. Brought them under education. This contribution is much larger.


Sudha Murthy’s Infosys Foundation is a public charitable trust founded in 1996 and Murthy is one of the trustees. She has built 2,300 houses in the flood-affected areas through Foundation. Her social work covers the education, healthcare, public hygiene empowerment of women, culture, and art, and poverty alleviation at the grassroots level. Her vision of a library for each school has resulted in the setting up of 70,000 libraries so far.

She is helping out rural areas by building 16,000 public toilets and several hundred toilets in the city of Bengaluru. And handled national natural disasters like the tsunami in  Andaman and Tamil Nadu, earthquake in Kutch – Gujarat, hurricane, and floods in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, and drought in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
She has stood by many poor people. Helped them selflessly. From this, we know that we should help others.

    She belongs to a middle-class family but has gone ahead with her goal. Sudha is the inspiration of millions of women. It has been proven once again that success comes through desire and hard work. Also, as a social worker, she has stood by people. She has helped people. Sudha did not give up in any bad situation. She has always maintained a positive attitude. She never thought – she can’t. This mentality of his also brings us confidence and perseverance.
